Dear AGSI Family
Another season has passed and now we are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the first workshop The American Guild for Structural Integration did in Dallas, Texas last year. We called that class a Family Reunion because we wanted to celebrate the coming together of our SI family as we started the Ameriguild training program. It has been an exciting year of growing community and teaching awesome Structural Integration workshops and trainings. I am going to change the order this month and talk about the classes we have coming up quickly first.
‼️ ALERT ‼️
Starting on May 6 we have our first ever Advanced Training. This class will be taught by David Davis and is going to feature the Advanced 5 series created by Peter Melchior, Emmet Hutchins, Michael Salveson and Jan Sultan. Over the course of the three week training practitioners will learn the philosphy and theory about the unique positions of the 5 session series, watch David do demo sessions on outside models, exchange the series with a student partner and work on outside models themselves. The Advanced Training is guarenteed to deepen your understandiong of SI and build your confidence as a practitioner. We have one opening left so if you want to sign up contact Erin Foster at 281-536-6468 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ASAP.
Starting on June 17 we are starting a Basic Training in Longmont, CO that will be taught by Nilce Silveira. We held our first Basic Training this winter in Tucson, AZ which has set us up to graduate our first Practitioners this August. Each BT is made up of both Auditing and Practitioning students. After students complete the auditing phase where they learn to “See”, begin to develop their skill of touch and gain a basic level of understanding of the “Recipe” they move on to the Practitioning phase of the training. As Practitioners they exchange the Series with a student partner and work with outside models from the community. There is room in this training so contact Erin if you have someone that is interested. Erin Foster at 281-536-6468 or This email address is being protected from spambots. We will be back in Boulder, CO again later this summer offering “The Magic Moment” workshop starting on August 9. Ritchie Mintz taught this class last summer in Austin, TX and it was amazing so we are doing it again. This is the workshops that will change your practice in 100 different ways. Ritchie talks about anatomy, touch and the line. At the bottom of this newsletter you will find the link to our website and some great YouTube videos of Ritchie talking about Structural Integration. !!Exciting News!!
Now I will fill you in on what we have been up to.
On April 22 we graduated our first class from our Teacher Training program. We met for 3 modules beginning in October of 2023 with the goal of bringing practitioners from multiple schools and varying lengths of time in practice together and train them in a manner that allows us to carry a consistent vision of Dr. Rolf’s work. We have graduates from the Guild for Structural Integration (GSI), Dr Ida Rolf Institute (DIRI), Crestone College for Structural Integration (CCSI), the school of Integrative Pyscho Bodywork (IPSB), and the Institute for Structural Integration (ISI) that have come together over the last 6 months to form the foundation of our American Guild for Structural Integration training program. During the coarse of the training we reviewed the recipe in depth, dove deep into SI history, learned how to prepare curriculum, practiced team building and communication skills, discussed building safe and effective classroom environments and last but not least, learned how to be effective educators by teaching to all types of learning and thinking styles. We also built our team and community by laughing together, sharing meals and working on each other giving sessions. David Davis taught the class for us and Ritchie Mintz selflessly volunteered his time by coming to every module and assisting the teaching of the class.
I am going to give a shout out to all of our Graduates who are each in their process of becoming our future teachers:
Front Row: Shawn Aarons Toronto, Canada, Ritchie Mintz, David Davis, Leesa Gray Augusta, GA, Bill Green Houston, TX
Middle Row: Steve Gamlin Bloomington, IN, Barry Davison Vancover, Canada, Rob Martin Sterling, CT, Barbara Yoder Columbia, SC, Daniel Burns Minneapolis, MN, Bradon Planty Bend, OR, Max Friedman Jackson, WY, Bruce Matsuno Dallas, TX
Back Row: Tom Raup Detroit, MI, Anna Collins London, England, Claude Hutchins, Ron Kelley, Pam Hollet Dallas, TX, Erin Foster
We took the training seriously but had some fun too.
We got competitive in our “Office Skill Olympics”. Here is a really short video: https://youtu.be/tIPqGP7bR1I
We tried a Gordion knot ice breaker and experienced a taste of failure. Who knew 16 people was to many? We tried it again with 7 and had complete success.
And we experimented with different ways to get creative teaching. Here we are looking at progressively larger segments of the body developing the skill of reading and anticipating what you can’t see based on what you can see. This was a really effective tool. We played with the checkered suit to help see fascial patterns and also played with different ways to teach touch.
AGSI Directors Erin Foster and Ron Kelley with Ritchie Mintz and David Davis. A big thank you to David and Ritchie for leading this life changing training.
What’s on the calendar?

The Magic Moment August 9 – August 11 Taught by Ritchie Mintz ⭐️ Don’t Miss This One‼️ ⭐️
We are bringing this one back by popular demand! Last summer AGSI had Ritchie teach this workshop in Austin, TX and it was amazing, a real game changer. Ritchie is a very clear and concise educator making his work accessible to everyone. He has been in private practice for 45 years, written 2 books on Structural Integration and founded the Texas School for Structural Integration.

Evolutionary Transformation Through the Line December 5 – 8
Taught by David Davis and Will Johnson
Also back by popular demand! We did this workshop in Costa Rica last December and the practitioners that participated can’t stop talking about it. This December we are moving it to the White Eagle Lodge Retreat Center in Montgomery, TX which is just 45 minutes north of the Houston airport. Will leads the morning discussions and meditation and then David takes over in the afternoon leading the hands on Structural Integration work of the class. David and Will both trained in the 70’s and have been developing the model for this workshop for over 20 years. Will is the author of 13 books on meditation and has been leading retreats for decades. David brings 34 years of teaching experience to this class. Between these two master instructors they have been practicing Structural Integration for 97 years.
Here is a video we made last year of David and Will:
Thank you for making it to the END! We will update you on our festivities soon.
