Colored Skull

Hi Everyone. Welcome to AGSI Training Program’s second newsletter. We know that you have been waiting at the edge of your seat for this edition. Well, we are finally back to report that we have had an awesome summer of workshops and community building. We also have some very exciting classes coming up that will set us up for the future. On the business side of AGSI we have made great strides in creating the infrastructure that will support our future.

Currently we are working hard on the approval process of the AGSI Basic Training Program for IASI. This includes documenting and laying out the curriculum for the entire training as well as developing all of our programs operating policies. It’s a several month project that we will be working closely with IASI throughout. Also on the business side we have received both our nonprofit status and our tax exempt status. Having both of these will really help with costs as we move forward.

To meet the demand of new students we just scheduled our first Foundations of Structural Integration (FOSI) which will be taught by Buddy Frank in Crestone, CO this October. FOSI will get students ready for our first Basic Training classes which are scheduled for 2024. At AGSI one of our primary goals is to develop the next generation of teachers. We are really excited to start Module 1 of our 3 Module Teacher Training class in October. David Davis has been working hard developing the curriculum which will be a combination of gaining deeper understanding of our work and growing as a teacher and a practitioner.

We started off in Boulder, CO with the amazing Nilce Silveira knocking it out of the park teaching a workshop focusing on working on head, neck and shoulders in a three session series. Being in Boulder was like going to our SI home for many of us. Susan Melchior, who directed GSI for many years, visited us for two days. During her stay Susan took the time to fill us in on SI history as she was in California and then moved to Boulder with her late husband Peter, Emmet Hutchins, Jan Sultan, Neal Powers, Dr Rolf and more. It was really great to see Susan, she welcomed so many of us into the Guild at such an important time of our lives. We can honestly say that Susan’s influence on our lives is a BIG reason we have started AGSI.

We also had a visit from Buddy Frank a long time friend and practitioner from Crestone, CO. Buddy has been deeply involved in the SI community for years. He was on the founding board of IASI and founded the Crestone College of Structural Integration in 2007. He is going to be teaching a bunch of classes for AGSI in the future. The list goes on, Ritchie Mintz, Nancy Prince(owner of the IASI approved school Structura in Farmington, Ut), Sarah Cort and Norma Bell Bandy. To quote Ritchie Mintz “ the good old days are now”. That’s enough about our social life, Nilce did a wonderful job of demystifying working on the cervical spine and the cranium for everyone present. Many of the practitioners have reached out to us saying how great their experience was.

No wonder we are tired. That was just one weekend. Next , in July we were off to Austin, TX where Ritchie Mintz taught a workshop on the “Magic Moment.” Again the workshop was a mix of old home week and newer practitioners growing their skills. Home Run!!! Ritchie nailed it! Ritchie has figured out how to get fascia to open and change in a very profound way. This falls into the “hard to describe“ category. With intelligent touch, boney margins and thick fascia structures like ligamentous joints he is able to get the whole fascia network to open. Hence, the magic moment, everyone’s mind was blown!!! I can’t say enough about the feedback we have had. Oh and we had fun too.

Next stop was Farmington, UT and the Structura Institute where Jason and Nancy Prince hosted AGSI where David Davis taught a three day workshop on scoliosis. We had students from 5 different schools attend the class. Going , going, gone!!! Another home run. Great job David! We can’t thank the Princes enough for the hospitality they showed AGSI.

Foundations of Structural Integration with Buddy Frank
Crestone, CO

This course is designed for individuals who are new to Structural Integration and it is the prerequisite for the Auditing Phase of the AGSI Basic Training program. While working with our amazing teachers you will learn the foundation skills to establishing a meaningful and successful career as a Structural Integration Practitioner. This five week intensive class is packed full of hands on and experiential learning opportunities that cover the basic anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology that form the fundamental knowledge needed to perform Basic 10 Series of Structural Integration. There is also a extensive look at the developmental growth of the human being and how this brings changes to the structure or form of the body. Students learn to explore through touch, learning anatomy through a hands-on approach. They also begin to learn to “listen and see” through their hands. The preliminary theories of the goals and principals of Structural Integration are also presented. When students complete this course they will be extremely well prepared to move forward to the Auditing Phase of the Training Program.

Freeing the Core: An Introduction to Pre & Perinatal Education

Pre & Perinatal Education (PPE) helps us understand ourselves and our clients in a profound way. Each of us as a human being has gone through a journey from being a single celled entity to becoming a living, breathing human being. During this journey, patterns are established in utero and during birth, fundamentally shaping our physical/psycho-emotional/energetic being. These patterns become templates for relationships of all kinds, and literally shape our experience of life. They manifest in our body as points pain and in our psyche as challenging relationships with ourselves and others. As therapists, we can only take our clients as far as we ourselves have gone. The PPE work eliminates blind spots in our consciousness, allowing for greater awareness of ourselves and our clients. This awareness and perception informs all of our session work, providing a safe environment for the client’s experience.

Teacher Training Module 1 with David Davis
Tucson, AZ

Developing the best training program to follow in the tradition of Dr. Rolf is one of our primary objectives at AGSI. We believe that learning should be fun, engaging, inspiring and informative. In order to meet this goal we need to have teachers that are talented, creative, present and at the top of their Structural Integration game. Our teacher training Program is a three module series, each module is 4 days.

Over the course of each module students will discuss the recipe in depth, learn about how to develop lessons and carry a classroom, give and receive sessions in order to develop their craft, learn how to develop teamwork and communication skills in a classroom, discuss business topics and work on personal growth to become the best role models they can be for future students. We are committed to developing the next generation of Structural Integration teachers.

Embodiment and Evolutionary Transformation Through the Line with David Davis and Will Johnson
Montezuma, Costa Rica

Are you a graduate of one of the teaching schools that trace their lineage to the teachings of Ida Rolf? And have you been drawn to Dr. Rolf’s implications of how an embodied exploration of The Line leads not just to improved function but to a radical transformation of evolutionary awakening? Is sitting meditation a part of your evolutionary journey? AGSI and the Mystery School present a potent practice that can open you directly into the awakened states that have been written about in all the great spiritual literatures through an approach to sitting, standing, and moving meditations based on Dr. Rolf’s vision of the evolutionary potential of an embodiment of what she called The Line.
