Shawn Aarons

After completing her degree in Health Sciences at the University of Toronto, Shawn studied and received certification at the Guild for Structural Integration in Colorado and Brazil and has maintained a full time practice since 1990.

She has extensive experience in athletics, dance, martial arts and sensory awareness movement work. Shawn has a broad wealth of knowledge and insight into health and individual growth and development, and has studied Gestalt psychotherapy, meditation, Tibetan Buddhism, Reiki, Tai Chi, Chi Gong and Native healing arts.

Shawn is dedicated to furthering the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf and continues ongoing studies in advanced Structural Integration at the Crestone College of Structural Integration.

When I met Shawn, almost ten years ago, I was at a stage in my life where everything was going wrong. I felt depressed and had very low self-esteem. I felt tired most of the time, I had no energy. I was plagued with recurring low back pain, terrible migraines, accompanied by nausea, stomach aches and neck tension. In a word, I was a mess. I read about Structural Integration in our local paper and called Shawn. That telephone call has been the best move of my life. After a few treatments, the results were so incredible, that I told many friends about the work. They are as thrilled about their treatments as I was and still am, because I continue to receive maintenance work.

I could barely make it up the stairs for my first session with Shawn because of how sick and inflamed my body was from PTSD and Rheumatoid Arthritis. My lungs and body were full of fluid as my kidneys and adrenals had begun to shut down. I had 10 sessions over 11 weeks, and was unrecognizable by the time I miraculously made it to my 10th session. Not only had I lost over 40-50lbs of the fluid that my body was retaining, but my mental and emotional state had completely transformed. I am forever thankful to her for helping to save my life.
